Lauren Rapaport
Lauren, a certified life coach, helps adults with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) manage the stress, overwhelm, anxiety, and emotional burden of T1D. She teaches them how to love life without letting diabetes get in the way.
Lauren equips her clients with practical tools to manage T1D stress and reduce overwhelm, allowing them to focus on other areas of life. As a result, clients have made significant lifestyle changes, such as obtaining new jobs, starting relationships, purchasing homes and more.
Based in Washington, DC, Lauren and her family have been dedicated volunteers with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), an organization funding critical T1D research, since 1980. Lauren is currently serving on the Board for the MidAtlantic Chapter.
Melissa Slemp
Melissa, an IIN-certified health coach living with type 1 diabetes for over 42 years, is on a mission to help women with type 1 diabetes navigate menopause. After struggling with fluctuating blood sugar, poor sleep, and weight gain, Melissa realized declining hormones were complicating her diabetes management.
Leaving behind 20 years of corporate stress, she spent the last 8 years as a certified health coach and personal trainer, developing a plan focused on diet, routines, and muscle-building, with bioidentical hormone therapy being life-changing. Now, through her podcast Type 1 In Midlife, and coaching, she helps women manage diabetes through postmenopause.
In her downtime, Melissa enjoys beach walks, sunsets with a glass of wine, and indulging in dark chocolate—moments shared with her husband David (also living with T1D), their church family, daughter Sarah, and their lively dog Kona.
